Did You Know?

According to Parenting magazine, 85% of the dirt in our homes is brought in on our shoes. So, to drastically reduce your household filth, the magazine simply suggests checking your shoes at the door, or leaving a shoe tray or rack near the entrance - Earth shattering.

I decided to share this statistic with my husband, who came up with an idea of his own: indoor shoes. (I didn’t have the heart to tell him someone had already thought of a little thing called slippers). SO, he headed to Kmart to purchase a $9 pair of Stride Rite sneakers that are not only Velcro, but also have a styrofoam sole three inches high, and he hasn’t taken them off since his return.

The result: my house is so much cleaner and my husband resembles someone who works at an elder care facility….so hot.

So what you're telling me is you have a problem with velcro? I would contend velcro is safer for children to be around and wear.

Here are two strong examples: 1. kids cannot place a velcro strap in their mouth and risk choking, 2. kids who wear velcro sheakers don't risk stepping on their laces and tripping, or getting their laces caught in an escalator, or dragging their laces on the floor of a dirty school/public restroom.

Velcro Sneakers
Hot on 32 y/o men - NO
Practical for children - YES

I don't have a problem with velcro as long as my kids are wearing it and not my husband! Boy, what a father won't do for his kids!!! You guys are too funny.

I think that this is a great idea Mrs. Deli. Although I think that it also means that you have way too much time on your hands. I wouldn't even know how to create a blog!!

Oh Johnny....you've got no idea what some kids are capable of. Your goddaughter once ripped a velcro strap off of a shoe and chewed on it for awhile. Stick to the slippers man!
