A Brother Abroad

While I'll spend tomorrow taking in the first dance recital of my little miss' adolesence, the actual significance of the day goes far beyond tutus and butterfly filled tummies, none of which would be possible had even the slightest decision been made differently or the men involved even slightly less courageous.

In the spirit of tomorrow, the 65th anniversary of D-Day, I give you the following:

Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Forces: You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you. I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty, and skill in battle... ...Good Luck! And let us all beseech the blessing of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking. --- D.D.E. 6/5/1944

This is Day 128.

Have fun at the recital! Wish we could see it too!
