Just Because I Don't Want to Be Alone in My Creepiness

As I affirmed in the comment section of the earlier post, yes, the young girl did pass away from some mystery illness at the age of 12.

Let the nightmares begin...(because of the commercial and the course of the Poltergeist dad's career.)

That is very creepy...that was one of the first scary movies I ever saw...after watching it several times, I got rid of all stuffed clowns in my room and made sure my closet light was always off!!! I still scramble for the remote when "static" comes up on the TV, which by the way is rare because of our Direct TV

I, too, was traumatized by this movie. Also the first scary movie I ever saw. I saw it on HBO at my friend's house across the street. He had older siblings, and my mom told me that if they were watching that old show "You Can't Do That on Television" I had to come home. Well, they weren't watching THAT, but they were watching "Poltergeist." I was about five, I think, and I had recently agreed to eat meat other than chicken (i.e. beef) at meal times. Well...after seeing that scene with the exploding steak that was off the table. Like Julie, I am still horrified by static or any lull in TV programming. Oh, and of course stuffed clowns are absolutely prohibited. Just another creepy note too... The boy across the street who made me watch the movie? He died in the early morning hours of his 21st birthday and even as a teenager he was obsessed with the film. The movie is soooo cursed.

Wow, Amy, that post took a turn at the end that I didn't expect. How creepy (and sad!). I am reassurred, then, that because of this movie, I am not the only one who never would have given in, no matter how desperate the pleas or ruthless the marketing, to bring home the stuffed icon Gymbo the clown from a certain kiddie gym class. :)

To me, the scarest movie, SCREAM.

The movie scared the crap out of me, at 25 years old. On top of the movie scaring me, my wife insisted on torturing me with phone calls at work and on my cell with the question "What's your favorite scary movie?"

Obviously, I am posting anonymous for a reason.
