Other troublesome words

"Slurp" got me thinking...as a former English teacher, there are quite a few words I simply do not like.

Some of the more egregious:

yeast
yogurt
snazzy
mucus (and, more specifically, mucus plug)
plume
fancy
bulbous
fungus

I hate:
-The term "breast-buds"
-slacks (as in pants)
-pant (as in "One of her pant-legs needs to be hemmed")
-discharge
-crust
-bust (as in chest size)
-pleasure
-The entire phrase "soup to nuts"
-and whenever people refer to someone's weight in monetary terms (i.e. "she used to be, like, a buck fifteen but now she's fat")

Oh, I also hate the word "smoothie"
and for my college buds out there I am sure we can all agree that it is a terrible name for a bar.

A certain brokerage firm that I was previously employed at forces its employees to attend "webinars". I hate that word.

Also, the word "quite" should not be used unless the speaker is British.
